Luxury Corporate Gifts Made Personal: Custom Laser-Engraved Stainless Steel Bowls for the Holidays

This season, I partnered with the Raymond James team at Capitol Private Wealth to create a personalized gift that blended elegance, usefulness, and Nebraska pride.

Their idea was simple but sophisticated: 30 large brass-colored stainless steel bowls engraved with their company logo, each to be filled with locally made Bakers Candies Nebraska Chocolate. With the right engraving, these bowls would become keepsakes their clients could enjoy long after the holidays.

This project was a perfect example of how laser engraving can transform everyday items into high-end corporate gifts — and how thoughtful branding elevates the overall experience.

Turning Stainless Steel Into a Holiday Showpiece

The bowls provided by the Raymond James team had a gold/brass appearance but were actually stainless steel with a brass-colored coating. Because coatings vary in composition and thickness, they also react differently when marked with a fiber laser.

That’s why the team supplied a test bowl before dropping off the full batch. This allowed me to experiment, adjust laser power, speed, and frequency, and provide them with sample engravings showing different visual outcomes.

Some test settings produced dark markings, others produced subtle shading — but one stood out: a crisp silver mark that revealed the raw stainless beneath the coating. It offered strong contrast, excellent legibility, and a refined, elegant look that complemented their branding perfectly.

After reviewing the options, the Raymond James team chose the silver engraving. With the settings locked in, I was ready to begin marking all 30 bowls.

Precision Marking for a Premium Result

For this project, I engraved the bottom interior of each bowl — a placement that keeps the look clean and intentional. When the bowls are filled with chocolate, the marking presents a subtle surprise, and once emptied, the engraving becomes a polished reminder of the gift.

Using my fiber laser, I engraved the “Sower” portion of their logo with precision. Fiber lasers excel at metal marking because they:

• Create permanent, abrasion-resistant engravings

• Produce sharp detail even on curved or reflective surfaces

• Offer professional, luxury-grade results

• Allow for batch-consistent reproduction

Even with the bowl’s slight curvature, the engravings came out uniform and clean across all 30 pieces.
